Dog of the Far Side

I recently purchased The Complete Far Side - supposedly every single bit of art created by Gary Larson. It's been a long time, since I last chuckled at his drawings, and I must admit I've missed it.

Now, Mr. Larson is very protective of his copyrights, which I fully understand, so I will not bring you any examples here. But other people "out there" have fewer qualms in that respect.

This one struck me as being particularly funny, because it sort of relays the frustration I suffered the other day trying to convince Jesper's dog (on the right) to get back to her enclosure

How many sides are in a triangle? Who is Tony Blair? From which state does KFC come from? The answers to all these questions and more here:

I saw an edited version of this once, laughed 'til I got sick. This is even better!

Death and Taxes

It appears that Members of Parliament have been given free rides on public transportation - without being taxed for it. Now, some of the present and former MPs risk receiving quite a bill.

Kaj Ikast, former Minister of Transportation, had this to say:

The parliament never informed me, that I should pay taxes for this (free transport). So you can all go to Hell. I built Storebæltsbroen, and I built Øresundsbroen (the two bridges connecting Sealand to Funen and Sweden respectively). At least this should give me free transport when going to and from meetings at Christiansborg.

:o) I totally agree. And we should also erect a monument in his honour - and maybe introduce a national holiday - Kaj Ikast-day.

Super Fly

1½ months ago we had this Indian or Pakistani tailor come by work to take measurements for new suits - and they arrived Monday!

Two custom tailored suits + extra set of pants for each + six shirts and four ties - for the price of one suit, if bought in Denmark (OK a suit and a couple of shirts). And it looks great, and apart from my being a centimeter slimmer around the waist a month ago - everything just fits.

The picture is from one of those 70s blaxploitation films, and something I picked up from a series - Everybody hates Chris - a "the wonder years" (Mine glade 60ere på dansk)-sort-of-thing but translated to the late 70s/early 80s with a black family with Chris Rock doing the narration - and it's funny. I love Chris Rock:
And everybody's talking about gun control, got to get rid of the guns. [....] F**k that shit. You don't need no gun control. You know what you need? We need some bullet control. .... l think all bullets should cost $5000. $5000 for a bullet. You know why? 'Cause if a bullet costs $5000, there'd be no more innocent bystanders. That'd be it. Every time someone gets shot, people will be like, ''Damn, he must have did something." ''Shit, they put $50.000 worth of bullets in his ass.'' People would think before they killed somebody, if a bullet cost $5000. ''Man, l would blow your fucking head off - if l could afford it!" -- Bigger and Blacker, 1999 HBO special

And it looks like we're going to Cuba in March! if Castro doesn't bite it - if he does, I think we're opting for somewhere else - most likely Brazil. But two weeks of doing nothing is going to be nice.
